Sourced from the exquisite Whisson Lake vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley. Hand harvested early and fermented with gentle agitation, aside from pumpovers twice daily. It has been a while since I tasted an Adelaide Hills pinot worth getting excited about. This comes close. A tad green, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. It will build in stature. A luminescent ruby. Crunchy red fruits, a sluice of sassafras, garden herb and bright maritime freshness towing it long. A lovely wine. Akin to a cru beaujolais in its current manifest, best drunk cool. Well worth following.
