From the Lopresti vineyard in Whites Valley; 16 months in mostly older, and mostly French, oak. The Jester range is one of the great price champions of the region, and this overdelivers. There’s a certain ease to this, a textural give, though the varietal expectations are delivered, with food-apt tannins, dark fruit, currants, cedar, a leafy lift and a dusting of spice.

The colour is brick at the edges showing some development; there are vegemite and soy sauce aromas, the palate medium bodied at most with a drying/savoury presence. It’s medium weight and softly structured with fine, powdery tannins. A quite forward but very drinkable cabernet.
